how do u get this pacifist emulator working on ms windows xp ? thanks............... ive got an older pc pentium 4 with 4 gb ram and 40 gb hard disk and a floppy drive ................ it dont work though it says processor execution error or something similar thanks..............................

Great work. Speaking as an Amiga guy, it always seemed odd to me that Atari included the original with the ST for a time, when the Amiga version was so much better. Lack of overscan aside, this is very close to the Amiga version, though I do prefer the Amiga music (despite the fact that it was actually the Spectrum version that I owned all those years ago, so I knew the YM music before the Paula music). More evidence that the STe really closed up on the Amiga's advantages (without eliminating them entirely) without losing the ST's small advantages in clock speed and MIDI chip (and better music software)

On the Amiga it's even worse. But back then I really loved it.

Something about this makes it feel near-unplayable for me, though it probably doesn't help that I played the Amiga version at length first. The sluggishness, overbearing rasters, small window, bad scrolling and lack of sound effects mean its just got no 'feel' for me. The bit from about 9 minutes in is almost impossible.

Such an early emulator, yet runs perfectly without any glitches. Dont really believe it would be completely smooth on 133Mhz P1, but still very well done.‚‚

The original was a pain..no checkpoints..no save progress and the gameplay was repetitive...relying just on graphics and sound doesn't make a good game.

ST Torvak runs a lot slower than the Amiga version, because it was developed alongside the Amiga version and Core didn't have time to improve it. They wanted to maintain the same screen size on both versions, so felt it was better to sacrifice speed, rather than play area, on the ST version. They felt, given the time scale, they pushed the ST quite a way.

lol! your midi unit is badass compared to my via ac97 sound card on a celeron 500mhz pc runnin windows 98 yet even that was a modern rig to run arena

Someone else mentioned in a video, but indeed the Atari ST was more like a 12 bit machine than a proper 16 bit machine. There are many things that the C64 does a lot better, and that's just an 8 bit machine.

This is not the Atari ST Version because I have an Atari ST myself and a copy of Shadow Of The Beast 2 game and it's nowhere near as laggy and frame rated as this! and also the music and sound effects for the Atari ST version sounds way better and doesn't sound like F*ckin Sh*t!... if you ask me this is from another port and you're trying to pass it off as the ST version just to make the ST look bad! 😐👎

When i compare Amiga and ST games, it make me glad that i picked the Amiga, it was far superior and the GUI was so much better. The ST desktop looked like it was designed by a child.
